Sentani Lake

The lake is a lake it is one that also has unique characteristics of many lakes that exist in Indonesia.

Has 30 species of freshwater fish species, Sentani Lake rich variety of marine life and has been utilized for the cultivation of fresh water. The lake is also used for tourist sites, speerti swimming, boating, diving, fishing, water skiing, and culinary tours. Lake Sentani is a volcanic lake. Source water comes from 14 large and small rivers with a mouth of the river, Jaifuri Puay.

In some records suggest that the lake bottom is sandy mud containing substrate (humus). In the shallow waters overgrown with pandanus and sago plants. The extent of approximately 9360 hectares with an average depth of 24.5 meters. Around the lake there are 24 villages, spread over the coastal and small islands in the middle of the lake.
